Development

Tested in the workshop. Next, the field.

Several prototypes have been built and tested in stone and concrete. Now we are integrating the complete system for field tests.

Tested

Cutting stone and concrete.

Examples from our tests: the blade cutting, and the cut it left. The photos come from different test runs, so they are not a measured before-and-after.

ResultA narrow slot through the boulder.

Concrete

ResultA slot cut into the block face.

Company-reported tests: prototype cuts of over 1 m in test conditions. This is not a field specification.

In progress

Bringing the system together.

Cutting a test block is one thing. On a real job, the head, arm, drive, mounting and controls must work as one system. That is what we are working on now.

A first concrete task at a hydropower site is planned. It was chosen because it is easy to access, so operators and equipment can be tested and improved. On its own it will not show the value on jobs with difficult access.

Next

What field tests must show.

A good cut is not enough. The value for a customer is in the whole job, so that is what we will measure.

  1. 01Setup and accessHow the rail, mounting and external pump are brought in and set up at a real working face.
  2. 02Cutting on siteCutting rock and concrete in place, outside test conditions.
  3. 03Water and slurryHow drive water is supplied and slurry is collected and handled.
  4. 04Freeing and liftingHow the cut section is released, lifted and taken out.
  5. 05CleanupWhat is left to clear once the material is out.
  6. 06Reliability and blade lifeWhether the system works day after day, and how long blades last.
07The complete jobTime and effort for the whole job, compared with the best suitable existing method.

Norwegian patent NO 349064 (granted September 2025) covers the defined combination of blade, drive, arm and controlled movement. Water drive is one way of carrying it out. International application PCT/NO2025/050030 received a positive patentability report in 2026 and is now pending in Europe, the US, Japan, China, South Korea, Australia and Canada.
